Care and protection of de facto unattended children is a key part of the 'Six Major Protections for Minors, and how to enhance the effectiveness of their care and protection is essential for social work services. Assessment of the needs for care and protection of de facto unattended children reveals that their survival needs are basically satisfied, while their relationship needs and development needs are lacking to varying degrees and gradually decreasing. Based on this, a developmental social work service model for the care and protection of de facto unattended children was explored including two phases: construction and development. In the construction stage, the ROPES model is used to explore the potential strengths of de facto unattended children, and the establishment, maintenance and development of emotional relationships are used to enhance and strengthen the degree of fulfilment of their needs for care and protection, so as to build self-help for individuals, families, communities and other subjects. In the development phase, through the comprehensive construction of investment programmes geared towards future development goals, the existing care and protection alternatives are transformed into assistance and support that will help their growth and development, effectively resolving the problem of obstacles to the development of care and protection for de facto unattended children, and jointly promoting the coordinated economic and social development of the community.

The concept of “children as co-constructors of space” has emerged as a central focus in western studies of children's geography. In contrast, the theoretical and empirical foundations in China are relatively underdeveloped, particularly concerning the vast issue of rural children left behind. To effectively address this challenge, it is imperative to adopt a spatial lens deeply rooted in the Chinese cultural and social milieu, focusing on the nuanced realities and aspirations of these children.Relying on the theoretical framework of spatial sociology and subjectivity theory, and based on a bidirectional perspective of “external connection + internal embedding”, this article explores the logic of subjectivity and the behavioral response mechanisms of Chinese left-behind children in geographical, network, and social spaces. Utilizing a multimodal typology analysis, we categorize these children into four types based on their subjectivity and behavioral characteristics: “Active Helper + Proactive Social Engagement,” “Passive Participant + Limited Social Interaction,” “Active Resister + Passive Tendency of Destructive Behavior,” and “Passive Rule Violator + Oscillatory Environmental Response.”A framework is developed to intertwine “space-subjectivity-behavior” ,aiming to enhance the spatial environment, elucidate children's agency, prevent antisocial behavior, and promote prosocial behavior and social adaptation. This theoretical framework provides a robust foundation for the formulation of more precise and effective policies and interventions. The ultimate goal is to improve the quality and efficiency of services for rural children, foster a child-friendly environment, and contribute to their overall well-being and growth.

In ancient China, the interaction, communication, and integration among various ethnic groups formed a complex and lengthy historical process. During this process, some ethnic groups gradually integrated with other ethnic groups, ultimately dissolving in the long river of history without leaving clear records. As a "process type" in the history of Chinese ethnic groups, the dissolution of ancient ethnic groups actually promoted the commonality and consistency between different ethnic groups. The historical truth of this ethnic integration is a key factor for many modern ethnic groups to form and maintain their unique identities. While laying a solid material foundation for the formation and development of the Chinese nation, the contemporary value urgently needs to be deeply explored and understood.

During the Liao, Song, Xia, and Jin dynasties, several regimes coexisted in multi-ethnic China. From the perspective of the diversified and integrated development of the Chinese nation, each regime actively promoted the development of social, economic, and cultural aspects within its own jurisdiction, gathering material and spiritual cultures for the establishment of a unified regime in the next historical period. The Jin Dynasty established the policy of Confucian governance in the process of regime construction and achieved multi-ethnic governance and cultural integration through the reform of the official selection system. Politically speaking, the implementation of the imperial examination system in the Jin Dynasty absorbed numerous Han Chinese intellectuals, promoting the integration of Confucian culture and classics from the Central Plains into the ruling system. From a historical and cultural perspective, the official selection system of the Jin Dynasty reflected recognition of the subjectivity of Chinese culture, becoming a historical practice of multi-ethnic political power sharing and developing Chinese civilization.

The system of inter-regional placement of chieftains in the Qing Dynasty was an important measure for the central government to strengthen border governance and consolidate political stability. Its essence reflects the deep contradiction between the Qing court's chieftain system and the policy of returning land to the flow. From the perspective of “unification”, the evolution, historical reasons, and multidimensional influences of the system of inter regional placement of chieftains in the Qing Dynasty are systemically studied. This indicates that the system of inter-regional placement is not only the aftermath of the Qing court's punishment and monitoring of chieftains, but also the core of the infiltration of state power into the border areas and the strengthening of central authority. The geographical isolation and administrative restructuring can not only weaken the power of local chieftains effectively , but also promote the transformation of border areas from “indirect autonomy” to “direct jurisdiction”, thereby accelerating ethnic integration and national consolidation.

Anle Group 2 is a typical multi-ethnic mixed and symbiotic village of Naxi, Han, Tibetan and other ethnic groups. Under the background of rural revitalization, Anle Group 2 has vigorously developed the agritainment economy, created a beautiful picture of multi-ethnic communication and thriving life, and become a model for the revitalization of villages and villages around the ancient city of the Old Town of Lijiang. The prosperous development of its rural tourism economy has not only profoundly influenced the lifestyle of local residents, but also brought significant changes to their language life. From the perspective of rural revitalization, the paper uses questionnaire and in-depth interviews to conduct an in-depth analysis of the language life performance, characteristics, and formation mechanisms of the Anle group. A focused investigation into the language ability, language choice, language attitude, and village language landscape of residents in Anle Group 2, found that under the background of rural revitalization, their language inheritance and changes reflect the following characteristics. Firstly, there are gender and intergenerational differences in mother tongue inheritance, the inheritance of mother tongue has been neglected for a period of time, and there is a strong awareness of ethnic language and cultural resources in the language landscape. Secondly, language changes exhibit the characteristics of “coexistence of two languages and universal advancement leading to regression”, the intergenerational differences in language communication are gradually becoming significant, and the development of rural economy brings new linguistic vitality. The main reason for the formation of existing language life is that the development of rural tourism economy has promoted the diversified development of language life; national cultural pride is the cornerstone of the development and inheritance of the mother tongue; school education is not only a means of improving language proficiency, but also a booster for mother tongue inheritance; and that the profound historical and cultural accumulation is a key factor in using Chinese as a language.

This paper employs field investigation and quantitative research methods to analyze the linguistic landscapes of two famous ancient town attractions in Yunnan—Shaxi Ancient Town and Baisha Ancient Town. A sampling survey was conducted on the language use of store signs in the linguistic landscapes of these two case study sites, followed by a multi-dimensional comparison. The study reveals that as later-developed and representative ancient town attractions in the tourism destinations of Western Yunnan, both towns share commonalities as well as exhibit distinct characteristics. The commonality lies in the tendency of both linguistic landscapes to use various languages to meet the needs of local businesses. The individuality is reflected in the change of the primary language used, which is influenced by their respective geographical and cultural environments.

The prisoner discourse is a social variety used by prisoners to express their marginal lives. The prisoner's marginalized individual identity is constructed by using such discursive means as vocatives and personal pronouns, and discursive strategies like swearing, discursive power, evidentiality, discursive empowerment, and collectivization. An empirical study of the discursive construction of the prisoner's marginalized identity from the perspective of individualization helps us to understand the prisoner's discourse patterns and living conditions, which can throw some light on their rehabilitation and thus help them to return to the mainstream society more easily upon their releases.
