Abstract: The combination of medicine and nursing is an important part of the “Healthy China Initiative”. The combination of medical and nursing led by medical institutions is a wise choice for the reform of Qujing’s medical system and the innovation of pension mode. Analyzed by the SWOT model of modern management science, both the advantages and disadvantages, and opportunities and challenges of the combination of medical and nursing led by medical institutions can be found. Therefore, the top-level design and establish operation mechanism of the combination of medical and nursing led by medical institutions should be strengthened to explore legal system of combination of medical and nursing of the local characteristics in Qujing, enhance the cultivation of talents and other measures to promote the effective connection of existing medical institutions and institutions of combination of medical and nursing and old-age care institutions, and embark on a track of integrated development.
