Abstract: Shuitian township of Mengzi city is a typical rocky desert mountainous area in Yunnan province. Because of its poor natural conditions and weak industrial base, it is one of the key towns for poverty alleviation in Yunnan province. In the exploration and practice of promoting targeted poverty alleviation, Shuitian township comprehensively integrates science and technology with poverty alleviation. Effectively integrate and utilize scientific technological products, scientific means and scientific platforms. We have explored a “five-in-one” model of poverty alleviation through integrates science and technology, which is driven by leading forces, dominated by the masses, coordinated by cooperatives, supported by funds and concentrated on agricultural land. This mode embodies the characteristics of going deep into the masses, improving scientific quality and cultivating high cultural talents. This model not only improves the benefits of scientific and technological poverty alleviation in Shuitian township, expands the ideas and methods of targeted poverty alleviation, but also has good reference and inspiration for poverty alleviation in similar areas.
