On Translation and Dissemination of Cuan Culture from the Perspective of Traditional Chinese Ethics——A Case Study on English Translation of the Inscription on Cuan Steles

Abstract: Cuan culture, as an important part of ethnic culture in southwest China, continued the ancient Yunnan culture and introduced Nanzhao culture. As the material carrier of Cuan culture, Cuan Baozi Stele and Cuan Longyan Stele inherited and promoted the essence of ideas and ethics in traditional Chinese culture. Based on the inscription on Cuan steles, this paper analyzes the inheritance and development of traditional Chinese ethics in Cuan culture. Using English translation of the inscription on Cuan steles as reference, the paper introduces translation methods and strategies in translating Cuan culture, and proposes dissemination ways of Cuan culture in cross-cultural communication from the perspective of traditional Chinese ethics, in the hope of promoting the dissemination of Cuan culture in cross-cultural communication and the sustainable development of Yunnan ethnic culture industry.
