Abstract: The superior geographical conditions and unique geographical advantages make the traffic in Qujing become the "throat of Yunnan", "key to Yunnan and Guizhou", and an important transportation hub connecting Yunnan and Southern Asia and Southeastern Asia. Under the background of strategic opportunities for Yunnan as China’s bridgehead, one belt and road, and the construction of the Yangtze economic belt, Yunnan’s"three strategies" and "sub-central center city in Yunnan",and under the guidance of national comprehensive transportation hub, the important transport hub in the region, a regional international logistics hub, the traffic function in Qujing becomes more prominent and the traffic development poses a big challenge. Some measures are put forward to strengthen the traffic status in Qujing by analyzing the development history of traffic in Qujing,summarizing the historical development stage and the characteristics of each historical stage on the basis of its achievements,top-level design implement differentiation strategy positioning transportation, modern information technology, and intelligent transportation in Qujing so that reference and theoretical guidance for traffic planning and development in Qujing are provided.
