Abstract: Funeral custom is an important part of ethnic minority culture. For a long time, funeral custom has played a certain social function in minority areas. Yunnan’s remote minority areas have complicated factors such as poverty, nationality, frontier and mountainous areas. There are still many problems in the practice of the national funeral reform policy in the remote ethnic areas. We should give full consideration to the local and national influence ethnic groups in the reform.and start with cultural change adaptation,and policy flexibility, and strengthen cultural care for ethnic minorities. On this basis, funeral reform will be more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
