Reflections on the Construction of Chinese Language and Literature Major from the New Liberal Arts Perspective

Abstract: The idea of new liberal arts emphasizes the cross-fertilization of disciplines while highlighting the connotations of traditional disciplines, with the aim of promoting the all-round development of people in the new era and cultivating talents with the ability to think and practice. The idea has an important impact on the major of Chinese Language and Literature, which will prompt it to change the traditional teaching methods of the curriculum system by emphasizing the statute of knowledge and humanistic pursuit, the teaching method attaching emphasis on lecture guidance and spiritual perception, and the cultivation of ability focusing on the transmission of bookish knowledge, to realize the enrichment of the connotation of the major with new contemporary factors, the enhancement of the vitality of the major with new construction methods, and the verification of the value of the major with new cultivation results.
