Analysis of Bioactive Components of Pollen Typhae Based on Comparative Study on Pharmacological Effects of the Traditional Chinese Drug and the Western Drug

Abstract

Abstract: A comparison in pharmacological effects between the traditional Chinese drugs Pollen Typhae and the Western drug Bromelain shows that Pollen Typhae plays a very similar pharmacologic role to Bromelain. It is found that Pollen Typhae contains the blood-activating and stasis-dissolving components, which are the fibrinolytic enzyme that can be absorbed into blood from the gastrointestinal tract. Furthermore, the problems, the precautions and the possible research directions of Pollen Typhae’s application in medicine are put forward.
