Abstract: Strengthening the historical materialist interpretation of the discourse on modern civilization of the Chinese Minzu is a beneficial attempt to construct an independent knowledge system for China's philosophy and social sciences. The proposition of modern civilization of the Chinese Minzu is a major theoretical achievement of the Party from the historical position and era coordinate where national rejuvenation and the century-old transformation are intertwined. It is also a mission of continuous theoretical innovation in the process based on historical materialism. In terms of essential definition, adhering to the organic unity of material civilization and spiritual civilization reflects the dialectical principle of social being and social consciousness. In terms of generative foundation, adhering to the organic unity of “soul vein” and “root vein” reflects the dialectical relationship principle of the universality and particularity of contradictions. In terms of action strategy, adhering to the organic unity of “upholding the right path” and “innovation” reflects the dialectical relationship principle of the absoluteness and relativity of truth.
