Abstract: There were four regimes of Song, Qi, Liang and Chen in the Southern Dynasty. In the official history, the Book of Song, Nan, Qi, Liang and Chen recorded the history of those regimes respectively. The study of the national biographies of Song, Nan, Qi, and Liang indicated that in the Northern and Southern dynasties, although there was a situation of separation of multiple regimes in a unified China, the historical trend of ethnic exchanges still continued. The Volksgemeinschaft of China still developed to accumulate both qualitatively and quantitatively for a larger unified pattern in the next historical period, promoting the development of the Volksgemeinschaft of China. Therefore, the study of the relationship between the northern and southern nationalities in the national biographies of Song, Nan Qi and Liang Shu is of great significance.
