Abstract: One hundred years ago, Yuyangli, the French Concession, was the birthplace of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the China’s Socialist Youth League (CSYL). Yuyangli is an important hub for the spread of Marxism in early period in China and also the origin for the pioneers of Chinese communist movement to build their dreams and advance their noble cause. They lighted the sparks and then the sparks spread out all over China in the near future. From the perspective of urban space research, the book restored the historical situation, integrated the heroes, and revealed that the party founding pioneers completed the whole process of elite gathering, organization creation, class mobilization, and theoretical propaganda in Yuyangli, which is an important exploration of the research on the history of the founding of the CPC.
