Abstract: In the context of the development of Chinese path to modernization,the inheritance and development of traditional national sports are facing many difficulties. It is worth further exploring how to make traditional national sports regain vitality in the multi-cultural environment. This paper analyzes and elaborates on the inheritance and development of traditional ethnic sports culture from the perspective of cultural ecology by using literature review and logical analysis. In response to the ecological challenges faced by traditional ethnic sports culture such as soil loss and cultural ecological damage, unfavorable resource development and cultural connotation transformation, conflicts between tradition and modernity, and conflicts between localization and globalization, this study explores its innovation and development pathas from two aspects: breaking the internal dilemma and solving the external dilemma.
