Abstract: Yunnan normal education has been in existent for over 120 years and has gone through four typical periods: the emergence in the late Qing Dynasty, the development in the Republic of China, the rectification in New China, and the transformation in the new century. The education has mainly achieved four major development achievements: the goal of professionalized teacher education being more clear, the initial formation of an open teacher education system, the integrated teacher education model gradually becoming prominent, and the comprehensive construction of standardized teacher education standards. Standing at the historical starting point of the new era, Yunnan normal education can only achieve high-quality leapfrog development by adhering to the development concept of building a modern teacher education system, adhering to the value orientation of educating people, establishing the goal of prioritizing quality, and seizing the opportunities of digital transformation.
