Abstract: The place of the Tonglai County of Han-dynasty’s Yizhou county was expected to be the Malong County of Qujing City, which is not convincing enough based on their reasons. REN Naiqiang’s(任乃强)determinationof Luliang County in Qujing City seems inconvincing , but the evidence from FANG Guoyu’s (方国瑜)investigation, and the water system and products recording in the old and new county annals, today’s archaeological findings can complement his evidence chain, because the copper is a mineral that can be used as a symbol on naming of countiesin the prosperous period of the Bronze Age as the fashion of opening the southwest of the Han Dynasty, and the land of Luliang at that time was indeed rich in copper. The academic designation of Lu Liang as the site of Tonglai County in the Han Dynasty is more convincing than the setting of it in Malong County beforemore direct and obvious evidences are found.
