Abstract: Patients with mental disorders in China are a very large group who are faced with the physical and psychological problems, and the economic conditions are often not optimistic. They all should be paid more attention. By combining the current situation and problems of social assistance services for patients with mental disorders and analyzing the connection between social work and social assistance, a path for social work to participate in social assistance services for patients with mental disorders is proposed, which combines problem-solving and empowerment, and provides a new direction for the mental health social work and social assistance.
