Abstract: Yunnan Lantern is a product of the fusion of immigrant culture in Ming and Qing Dynasties and local witch festival culture. It originates from the folk and is deeply rooted in the festivals and folk custom cultures of the Han and ethnic minorities. There are lantern performances in activities such as weddings and funerals, birthday celebrations, house relocations, attending school, enlisting in the armed forces, ancestor worship, and worshipping gods and blessings, etc. It can be said that the lantern is the most important traditional entertainment mode of Yunnan folk, and it is also the construction and inheritor of folk culture.
