Abstract: Focusing on the construction of the Three Gorges Hydroelectric Power Station, the film “Still Life”, adopting multiple visual angle of narrating, observes the event from the perspective of ordinary residents, speculators and governments respectively, demonstrating the different impacts of the Three Gorges Hydroelectric Power Station on different social groups. In the narrative structure, the film uses a parallel narrative structure in which two clues are not intertwined, and the two clues imply deep contrast. Specific time and space setting makes the film better perform the psychology of the characters, additionally, the film has a more profound cultural connotations.
