This article, with light and shadow as the key point, analyzes how this key element carries enormous importance in his narration of inner spirit. It respectively analyzes the corresponding relationship of three distinguished aspects in different works, namely the effect on construction, on plot, and non physical performance of light and shadow so as to explore Balthus's originality in the application of light and shadow as well as the artistic interest of light and shadow employed in internal narration.
