Abstract: Economic development, to a certain extent, depends on the improvement of cultural quality of the population. In view of the population's current cultural quality and the present economic development in Guizhou, the impact of population's culture quality on regional economic development is analyzed in the Cobb-Douglas production function model supported by the data from 1990 to 2015. The study shows that the population cultural quality is positively related to the economy in Guizhou, but the contribution rate will drop before it rises up as time goes on. With regard to the relationship between the population culture quality and the economic development, the policies to improve the cultural quality are put forward so as to achieve the purpose of promoting regional economic development.
