Abstract: Naxi marriage custom is closely related to social formation, economic structure, Dongba religious belief and marriage system in Naxi society. Based on literature review and fieldwork on traditional Dongba marriage custom of Xinzhu village in Yulong County, it is found that traditional Dongba marriage custom has some characteristics, such as bright ethnic and religious feature, complicated regional diversity and unique period difference, which are of certain historical value, social cultural value, scientific value and economic value. Some measures to protect traditional Dongba marriage custom are proposed that people should enhance scientific research, improve social inheritance awareness, apply for intangible cultural heritage project and strike a balance between protection and development.
