Status and Existing Problems of Ethnic Minority Population’s Employment in Yunnan

Abstract: In recent years, the rural surplus labor of ethnic minorities in Yunnan continued to transfer to cities and towns, making the employment problem of ethnic minorities becoming increasingly prominent. Based on the survey data and the analysis, it is found that low cultural quality, singularity of industry, failure in implementation of labor security, and rules of the traditional culture are the main problems affecting minority population’s employment. Some countermeasures and suggestions in point are put forward to bring a favorable effect to social development of ethnic minorities in Yunnan.
