少数民族大学生语言行为动机过程研究 ——以地方普通院校为例

A Study on the Motivation of Minority College Students' Language Behaviors ——A Case Study of Some Local Colleges

摘要: 文章以地方普通院校少数民族大学生为研究对象,采用问卷调查并结合观察、访谈对其语言行为进行调研,分析其语言行为的动机过程。少数民族大学生在语言优越性、活力、吸引力及其个人行为意愿上普遍认为汉语优于母语,将汉语视为融入群体或用于学业、工作提升的工具,母语视为民族身份的重要标识,并采用合作、妥协或转换等行为策略帮助其实现人生目标与理想。其后,探究其语言行为动机过程的形成原因,并就地方普通院校少数民族大学生的母语使用与传承提出建议。

Abstract: This paper investigates the language behaviors of minority students from some local colleges, and with the aid of questionnaires, observations and interviews, analyzes the motivation of their language behaviors. Minority college students generally believe that Chinese is better than their mother tongues in terms of language superiority, vitality, attractiveness and their personal preference. They regard Chinese as a tool to help them fit in or fight for academic progress or work promotion, their mother tongues as an important symbol of national identity, and adopt behavioral strategies such as cooperation, compromise or conversion to help them achieve their goals. This paper then explores the causes for those language behavior motivations, and gives some suggestions to minority college students on the use and inheritance of their mother tongues.
