Abstract: The county of Ningzhou recorded in The South Qi Book is divided into two parts. The first part inherited from The Book of Song, and the second part was an county which was unauthorized by the goverment. These prefectures were not set up for actual goverance, but for the political needs of the aristocratic and great clans and families, who longed for high office and wealth.
