Friction and Wear Research of Silicon Surface under the Condition of Oil Lubrication of Squalane

Abstract: The tribological properties of the Si-GCr15 friction pair at different loads and speeds were investigated by UMT-2 tribometer under the oil-lubricated condition of squalane which is environmentally friendly. The wear trace of friction pair was also scanned by scanning electron microscopy and its wear mechanisms were analyzed. The results showed that the load was inversely proportional to the friction coefficient of the friction pair, and the effect of the velocity on the friction coefficient was mainly related to the temperature. Under the condition of oil lubrication, the wear trace of worn surface was smooth, and a transfer film was formed on the surface of the steel ball, which can effectively reduce the friction and wear of the friction pair.
