The Spatio-temporal Dynamic Distribution of Inbound Tourist Flows in Yunnan Province

Abstract: Based on the concept of habitus, a building tourism habitus index model is built to analyze the spatio-temporal dynamics distribution, discreteness and concentration of inbound tourist flows in Yunnan province. The research results show that: the monthly concentration index of inbound tourist flows in Yunnan province tended to fluctuate; the overall average habitus index of inbound tourism in Yunnan province 2010-2015 was 6.0 and in April to August inbound tourist flow went to the peak, while in the rest of the time there was less traffic flow and strong discreteness; tourist flows from Hong Kong and Macao took the first place and were highly concentrated; the tourism spatial index of Taiwan region and Thailand went to the second and the third; South Korea came in fourth, Malaysia in fifth, Singapore in sixth; Kunming, Xishuangbanna, Diqing, Dali, Lijiang were the top five cities of inbound tourism, and the tourism spatial habitus index of the 5 cities were respectively 3.8, 1.14, 3.38, 2.14, 3.09; tourism spatial habitus index in Zhaotong city had an average value of 0.004, with the lowest value for index(S) among the 16 prefectures in Yunnan Province, which showed that it had the lowest inbound tourist flow and the highest discreteness; in the past years from 2010 to 2015, the geographical concentration index (G) of inbound tourism market in Yunnan province was 26.5, 26, 25.5, 25.5, 24.5, 23, respectively, which showed a downward trend, indicating that the inbound tourism market of Yunnan province was diversified and dispersed.
