Abstract: The survey shows that, with regard to rural teachers in Shizong County, there is a high turnover rate and a strong will to quit, the degree of which varies a lot according to their age, salary, distance from the nearest county and marriage condition. Their children’s education, salary, marriage, responsibility and stress of their work become the main factors that decide their choice to move or quit. To ensure the stability of rural teachers, measures should be taken to help rural teachers deal with what they are concerned about like kids’ education, their professional development, a better salary, relatively relaxing work environment and help them become a all-subject teacher.
