Abstract: Set in the background of the strategic policy of the Belt and Road, this paper analyses the national sports tourism resources and current status in western China by the means of literature review, and proposes that the development of national sports tourism resources in the new period should be conducted based on the Silk Road to promote joint and cooperative development, especially to excavate the potentiality of national sports tourism resources. At the same time, the paper highlights its local characterized path of serialization, optimization, upgradation and its accordance with international tourism specialty in hope of providing reference to all-round coordinated development of national sports tourism.
