Development and Expansion of “Cuan” Calligraphyafter the Establishment of People’s Republic of China

Abstract: The “Cuan” calligraphy, which is characterized by strong writing, delicate structure, is a typical script between the official script and regular script. After the establishment of People’s Republic of China, the study of “Cuan” calligraphy experienced the exploring period at the beginning of the establishment of the nation and the prosperous period in 1980s. Many achievements of the study have been achieved to lay solid foundation for the study of “Cuan” cultures and art of calligraphy. The foundation of research institute of “Cuan” cultures is a milestone for the study and expansion of “Cuan” calligraphy and “Cuan” cultures
