Abstract: The Red family tradition is a precious spiritual treasure forged by the Communist Party of China (CPC) over its century-long struggle, and a product of the profound integration of Marxism with fine traditional Chinese culture and revolutionary practice. Taking the people as its foundation, the Red family tradition displays the distinctive features of “the unity of family and nation, firm faith, selfless dedication, integrity and incorruptibility, hard work and plain living, and upholding virtue and pursuing goodness.” With exemplary role models at its core, it ripples out across the whole society, subtly guiding social groups to establish correct outlooks on life and values, thereby fostering a strong atmosphere of consciously inheriting red genes and maintaining social stability. The inheritance and evolution of the Red family tradition has generally undergone a historical progression involving “teaching by precept and example during the period of the New Democratic Revolution,” “institutional norms during the period of Socialist Revolution and Construction,” “diversified communication during the new period of Reform and Opening-up and Socialist Modernization,” and “systematic construction in the New Era of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,” reflecting its autonomous adaptation and gradual improvement across different historical periods. In the context of the new era, the inheritance and innovation of the Red family tradition should be grounded in the CPC’s century-long history of struggle; theoretical research should be further deepened, communication mechanisms innovated, and the education system improved, so that it continuously radiates its contemporary vitality on the new journey toward the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
