Abstract: The modeof“City-University Symbiosis”between the local university and the city has been proved to be inevitable, stable and sustainable. The role orientation and existing problems of the local university in serving the construction of provincial sub-central cities have been analyzed to explore how the local university serve the construction of provincial sub-central city under the mode of“City-University Symbiosis” based on the explanation of the theoretical origin and characteristics of the mode of“City-University symbiosis” in this paper.The ways to realize the strategyof“City-University Symbiosis”have been put forward, such as unblocking the integration mechanism of“City-University Symbiosis”, adhering to the culture and concept, optimizing the structure of, perfecting the benefit integration system, improving the governance mode, and creating the service mode of“City-University Symbiosis”.The research will provide new ideas and approaches for the development of reciprocal symbiosis between the local universities and the provincial sub-central city.
