Abstract: The memories and narratives of the Yi, Han, Hani, Lisu, Bai, Dai, Wa, Miao, Tibetan, Hui and other multi-ethnic communities in the Yi nationality's creation epic Meige and Chamu expresses the blood identity of all Chinese ethnic groups “coming from the same origin”, the geographical identity of “regional symbiosis and coexistence”, and the emotional identity of “brotherhood”. In the long-term historical evolution process, various ethnic groups have intersected and intermingled, and are culturally eclectic, economically interdependent, and emotionally close to each other, uniting from diversity into one. Precisely for this reason, sorting out the multi-ethnic community narratives in these two epics can not only guide people of all ethnic groups to firmly establish the community concept of “sharing weal and woe, sharing honor and disgrace, sharing life and death, and sharing destiny”, but also play a vital role in telling the story of the Chinese nation and strengthen the consciousness of the Chinese nation's community.
Key words: sense of community for the Chinese nation, Yi ethnic’s creation epic, blood identity, geographical identity, emotional identity
