Abstract: At present, there is a strange phenomenon in the rural areas. With the increase of national poverty alleviation efforts, many rural families have tried to push the elderly to the society and push them to the government. Providing for the aged has become a difficult and hot issue, especially in underdeveloped areas. What is the reason for this phenomenon, which is deviating from human nature occurs in China, which has an ancient civilization with thousands of years. There is a famous saying in China, which goes like this “We should not forget other elderly people who are not related to us when we support and respect our elders”. Only by investigating the real survival situation of the old people in the underdeveloped areas, finding out the reasons why it is difficult the elderly to support themselves, and taking a full-on multi-channel approach can the rural elders have a happy and healthy life.
