Abstract: after the war of 1894, the Western powers set off a frenzy of dividing China. In this situation, China's rich mineral resources also became the focus of the covetous and plundering of all countries. After Wei Guangtao's main administration, France tried to further infringe on China's power of interest in the name of CO hosting the Yunnan mine. In the negotiations, he always followed the principles of prevention, preservation and profit. It was a very difficult and tortuous discussion with France. In the end, although it failed to completely contain the aggression of France, it was partly successful.
