On Value Orientation of College Teachers’ Professional Development in the “Internet +” Era

Abstract: With regard to the national “Internet +” strategy, “+” is not only limited to the various industries and innovative technologies, but should include ways of thinking and values. Internet thinking is the core element of the “Internet +” action plan. It affects the value construction of college teachers’ professional development, and furthermore the higher education reform in the “Internet +” era. Internet thinking mainly includes three aspects, namely platform thinking, users thinking and iterative thinking. Correspondingly, college teachers’ professional development should exhibit three values: cooperation, practicality and innovation. In the “Internet +” era, college teachers should comply with requirements of the times, continue to strengthen the internet thinking and to use information technology, establish a new value orientation based on the mutual integration of cooperation, practice and innovation, actively promote the reform and development of higher education, and strive to create a world-class university.
