认知叙事学的前景与局限:以心灵呈现为例

摘要: 叙事学认知理论的两个重要概念心灵阅读和思维理论体现了认知叙事学“假设”和“猜想”的特征。认知叙事学将其用于分析叙事和意识关系时,有独到之处。但同时,认知叙事学从其发展初期就表现出两个方面的不足:第一,倾向于将虚构的思想与实际的想法等同起来;第二,在文本分析中,侧重于关注人物,并认为事件从属于人物。认知叙事学所谓的“小说阅读就是心理阅读”应该准确表达为“小说阅读就是心理事件阅读”。

Abstract: The key concepts of narratological cognitivism, mind reading and theory of mind, carry the characteristics of “hypothesis” and “supposition”. They are effective in the analysis of the relationship between narration and consciousness. However, from the very beginning of its development, cognitive narratology reveals two limitations, one is the tendency to equate fictional minds with real minds and the other is the focus on character with the events subordinating to the character in text analysis. Therefore, it is suggested that “Novel reading is mind reading” should be accurately presented as “Novel reading is mental event reading”.
