Abstract: As an important material carrier of Cuan culture, the inscription on Cuan Longyan Stele provides precious documents for research into the history of minority nationalities in Yunnan province and the evolution of Chinese calligraphy. Moreover, the inscription is of high linguistic value featuring the combination of prose and parallel sentences, flowery language and elegant writing style. English translation of the inscription on Cuan Longyan Stele is a significant way of inheriting, protecting and promoting Cuan culture. Thus, this paper probes English translation studies of the inscription from the perspective of intercultural communication, and helps its translation studies extend from intralingual translation to interlingual translation. For the convenience of research into Cuan culture at home and abroad, full English translation of the inscription on Cuan Longyan Stele is published as follows.
