Abstract: Language poverty alleviation is an important part of poverty alleviation roughly divided into the promotion of Mandarin and the protection and development of ethnic language resources in Yunnan. The former is like the promotion of the national standard language for teachers, preschool children's learning Mandarin and “small hands holding big hands” to drive villages (communities) to learn Mandarin; the latter is like the practice of ethnic language education, bilingual assistance for poverty alleviation, epidemic prevention, border security maintenance and the empowerment of ethnic languages in the tourism industry. We start with school language education and language practice, and then understand the language life of families, villages or communities. We propose to promote popularization and minority language protection in the post-poverty era, build multilingual ability, and build a harmonious language life.

Key words: construction of harmonious language life, language poverty alleviation, Mandarin promotion, ethnic language development, language empowerment
