Abstract: The inheritance path of Yi traditional sports on campus in Chuxiong is analyzed by using the methods of literature, investigation and statistics based on the theory of cultural hierarchy of anthropology. The research finds that the effective ways to carry forward the traditional sports of the Yi people in Chuxiong include focusing on the theme of Yi People culture and reflecting the cultural life of the school, absorbing the cultural nutrients of the times and preserving the basic spirit of Yi People, following the ways of school transmission; deducing the school behavior pattern, adapting the school development rhythm, strengthening the system contract nature, surmounting the appliance use value, and endowing with the cultural symbol significance. The main innovative work of carrying on the traditional sports of the Yi people in Chuxiong should focus on the theme of Yi People culture and protect the basic spirit of Yi people.
