Towards the Ecological Niche of Grammar Teaching of College English in the New Era

Abstract: The ecological niche of grammar teaching of college English refers to the status and function of grammar teaching in college English teaching, which consists of two aspects: ecostate and ecorole. The ecostate of grammar teaching is the accumulation of past ecological function of grammar teaching, including the state of grammar learning, level and ability. The ecorole is the role of grammar teaching to the whole college English teaching, which may transform the ecostate. In order to satisfy the needs for major learning and research by means of English, the ecological niche of grammar teaching is indispensable for college English teaching in the new era.
