Abstract: The Wudang Golden Temple is one symbol of the Wudang Mountain, a Taoism Holy Place, Yunnan, a frontier province, has an profound relation with it. Mainly bronze railings in it are donated and built by Yunnan People. Partly the copper material used in the main building of the temple is from Yunnan. Moreover, the Wudang Golden Temple is a model of the Golden Temple at Mingfeng Mountain, in Kunming. These two Temples are closely related to Mu Ying family which protected Yunnan in Ming Dynasty. The Wudang Golden Temple embodies the political implication of “divine right of kings”, and the Golden Temple in Kunming is one symbol of the soft power used by the Ming-Qing government to rule the borderland.
