Thinking without Evil: Poetics Thought and Its Gain and Loss in “Drinking Yashi Words”

Abstract: “Thinking without evil” is the extreme rule of “Drinking Yashi Words”. Its gain and loss are basically caused by its sincere admiration for “thinking without evil”. “Action of the poem” in accordance with Confucius “thinking of no evil” as the principle of poetry, strongly advocated the content of poetry, thought of pure and correct, although in the specific discussion often have the bad, but its basic tendency to worship Confucianism and uphold the right, still have its gains. At the same time, it is precisely because of the excessive emphasis on the poet's Confucian personality cultivation, the excessive emphasis on the Confucianism contained in literary works, and the excessive interpretation of some poetic concepts that the drawbacks of “stubbornness” in the book are indeed caused, and even lead to many mistakes in criticism and judgment. His poetics thought is the epitome of the mainstream poetry thought in the middle and late Qing Dynasty.
