Abstract: With the development of technology and the Internet, the way of reading has changed from the single paper reading to multiple ways of reading. Based on the investigation of the current situation of new media reading and traditional reading, the paper discusses not only how to read for the benefit of self-learning facing today's fast-paced life and massive information, but also the advantages and disadvantages of new media reading, the challenges faced by traditional media and how to improve it. At last, the complement of the traditional reading and the modern reading is discussed as well.
