Abstract: Deng Xiaoping's speech "emancipating the mind, seeking truth from facts, uniting and looking forward" in 1978 has become the theme report of the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, known as the "Manifesto" of ideological emancipation. The formation of this speech has a profound historical background and contains rich content. At present, when we relearn this classic Marxist literature, we should draw on the value of the times, adhere to the ideological line of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts, adhere to the people-centered development thought, promote the construction of socialist democracy and the rule of law, constantly promote development through reform and innovation, and constantly strengthen the construction of learning party.
