Abstract: The university spirit, the soul and support of a university, consists of four aspects: the justification and rationale of value appealing, publicity of knowledge, consistency in liberty and science and idealization. These four aspects of the university are challenged and declining, which makes the reconstructing of the university spirit an urgent task at present. Reconstructing the university spirit can be achieved through going back to the rationale of the university, taking the human-oriented idea, constructing scientific policy and forming the cultural identification.
