Abstract: The modernization of Chinese style graduate education plays a fundamental and pioneering role in promoting the modernization of Chinese style education. The modernization of Chinese style graduate education has both the commonality of global education modernization and the uniqueness of Chinese education modernization. It implies the era connotation of taking Chinese characteristics as the basic positioning, comprehensive human development as the core goal, higher education equity as the value orientation, high-quality development as the primary task, and “co construction, co governance, and sharing” as the governance model. The historical sedimentation, institutional system construction, and advanced knowledge production of graduate education have laid a historical, practical, and theoretical foundation for promoting the modernization of Chinese style graduate education. In practice, promoting the modernization of Chinese style graduate education should be guided by the people-centered concept of graduate education, shaping a “collaborative development” graduate education structure, creating a “co construction, co governance, and sharing” graduate education system environment, and constructing a new pattern of high-level graduate education opening up to the outside world that serves the overall development of the country.
