Abstract: The characteristics of higher vocational education is to arrange the curriculum and the professional construction according to market demand, and to design and build the corresponding curriculum according to the future requirements of the students' career in order to foster piano talents the society really needs. So the professional piano teaching in higher vocational colleges should aim to cultivate not only social piano player but also amateur piano education talent. The training of the compound piano talents will be the development direction in higher vocational education. Therefore, the curriculum should reflect the following principles: combining performance with education;combining teaching with students' actual need in their future career; combining single teaching with collective classes;and combining diversified capability with its leapfrog development.
