Abstract: Dulong people’s basis for developing sports tourism is studied through the methods of literature review, field work, interview, contradictions analysis and logic reasoning from the perspective of ethnology, anthropology, philosophy, economics and national sports to locate Dulong people’s motive for developing sports tourism and to find that Dulong people’s sports tourism industry has its inherent advantages and traits in a supportive social environment during its development. The sports tourism can be developed through government’s and administrative department’s macro-policy support, supplementary guidance and management for tourism industry, making full use of its own characteristics, advantages and basic functions, expanding the market to be a better hub and carrier and establishing long-term win-win docking mechanism between sports and tourism industry.
